چکیده

Immobility in the bed of pediatric patients intensive care units increases risk morbidities such as pneumonia, with consequences for autonomic function. Physiotherapy based on physical exercise is part rehabilitation process and can modify To compare effects two therapy protocols, one conventional other exercise, heart rate variability, length stay invasive mechanical ventilation children ventilator-associated pneumonia. This a randomized clinical trial, volunteers were divided into control group (submitted to physiotherapy protocol only breathing exercises passive mobilization) an experimental exercise). Patients aged 1 8 years, ventilation, pneumonia included. The took place 4 consecutive days. collection variability occurred pre-protocol period, 2nd day, day after end protocol. 25 completed study. There was reduction time (p = 0.01). improvement all indices < post-protocol analysis groups showed significant values variables 0.05). Exercise-based improved modulation reduced IMV

Effect of Early Mobilization on Hemodynamic Parameters of Patients Undergoing Sleeve Gastrectomy; A Randomized Clinical Trial

Aims: Today, due to the failure of non-surgical methods in the treatment of obesity, surgical procedures such as sleeve gastrocetomy are used. Similar to other invasive interventions, sleeve gastrectomy causes an imbalance in hemodynamic parameters. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of early mobilization on hemodynamic parameters in patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy. Mater...

Deferoxamine Protective Effect in Preventing Nephrotoxicity in Children Under Treatment with Doxorubicin: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Background: Nephrotoxicity secondary to doxorubicin (DOX) may be associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. We aimed to assess the efficacy of Deferoxamine (DFO) in preventing DOX-induced nephrotoxicity in pediatric malignancy. Methods: This Parallel-group randomized clinical trial was done on 62 children aged 2-18 years who had new onset malignancy treated with DOX. They were randoml...

We suggested in the “Discussion” section that the fact that more smokers with moderate/severe disease as compared to those with mild disease quit smoking might result from more symptoms observed in more advanced disease. We have now looked into our database for more...

Clinical characteristics and cytokine changes in children with pneumonia requiring mechanical ventilation

Objective To assess clinical characteristics and cytokine levels in children with severe pneumonia who required ventilatory support. Methods In this prospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study, blood and endotracheal fluid samples were obtained from patients with severe pneumonia, aged <5 years, within 24 h following intubation. Blood samples were also obtained from age-matched healthy cont...
